Want the fun of riding a KTM, but without all the hassle of shifting? This may or may not describe you, but KTM seems to think there’s a market for an auto-shifting version of its bikes, as it debuted the technology last weekend at the Erzbergrodeo.

If KTM really is bringing in auto-shifting tech to its ADV lineup, it will join Honda and BMW—Honda already has the DCT-equipped Africa Twin, and BMW is expected to have its Automated Shift Assistant tech as an option for the new R1300 GS this coming fall. Yamaha is also expected to bring the tech to its Tenere 700 in coming months.
