Toyota updates timeline following massive recall

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – According to Toyota Motor North America, production for the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX will continue to be paused into August. Officials note deliveries to customers will also continue to be paused until a remedy is made available and implemented. 

Toyota Motor North America says in Princeton, the production suspension affects Toyota Indiana’s west plant, which produces the Grand Highlander and Lexus TX. This comes after certain Toyota models were voluntarily recalled by Toyota.

Officials say, in reference to Princeton, team members are given the option to report to work and may receive training and development opportunities, assigned work in the plant or can take PTO.

A spokesperson says, “Toyota is committed to long-term employment security and income stability for our team members and will communicate directly with them regarding this situation.”
