SOURCES: John Deere to lay off global production and salaried employees |
WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) — Multiple sources tell KWWL they received an email from John Deere on Friday May 31 stating that the company will part ways with global production and salaried employees.
The email says the layoffs will happen by the end of “Q3 2024”.
The email says in part, “While this is not an easy decision to make, it is a necessary step that we must take to enable the long-term health of our business.”
KWWL is working to confirm whether these layoffs will impact the Eastern Iowa facilities. It’s not clear how many people this could impact, or when exactly they will go into effect. KWWL has also reached out to John Deere for further clarification and comment. KWWL will update this developing story as we receive more information.
