CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — Hy-Vee is set to close one store in Waterloo and one store in Cedar Rapids in June.

One store in Waterloo and one store in Cedar Rapids will close permanently on June 23.

Hy-Vee confirmed to KWWL that the First Avenue store in Cedar Rapids and Logan Avenue store in Waterloo will permanently close at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.

Senior Vice President of Communications, Tina Potthoff, elaborated that the stores are closing because they didn’t meet financial expectations for the last several years.

All employees impacted will be offered a position at another store with the same pay rate and will retain their benefits.

Pharmacy patients will receive an email with more information on the pharmacy they can go to in the future. However, both Waterloo and Cedar Rapids customers will still have the option to use Hy-Vee Aisles Online for deliveries.
