How to Get Crude Oil – Palworld Guide

Currently, the only place to find Crude Oil is on the Sakurajima island to the northwest of the main islands. On the map, you’ll note black patches scattered about the north, east, and central portions of the island. These patches indicate Crude Oil fields, and there’s usually a bit of clear room around each to construct a small base and the necessary harvesting equipment.

How to Harvest Crude Oil

To successfully harvest Crude Oil, you must place an Oil Extractor within the Oil Field. Once you construct this new harvesting tool, it will automatically but slowly begin drawing Crude Oil from the ground with an adequate power source nearby. That’s right; you must also place down a Large Generator, which additionally requires two electric Pals with an electricity rating of three or higher.

Furthermore, you can acquire small traces of Crude Oil by slaying Kikits and Sootseer on Sakurajima Island. You’ll only receive one or two per drop, though. Lastly, you may also receive Crude Oil from the Oil Rig to the southeast. It’s the game’s latest stronghold and the most challenging one to date.

Crude Oil is most certainly an end-game resource!

How to Get Crude Oil Extractor

To unlock the Crude Oil Extractor in Palworld, you must reach level 50 and spend two Technology Points. Once you’ve unlocked the tech, it will cost the following resources to craft a single unit:

x250 Pal Metal Ingot x50 Circuit Board

It’s an extremely expensive, late-game resource-gathering machine!

How to Use Crude Oil Extractor

Once you unlock the Crude Oil Extractor, and you have the necessary resources to build one, enter the build menu and navigate to the Production tab. Once there, select the Extractor and place it over the Crude Oil node on the ground.

After the unit is placed and built, you must run electricity to the Extractor for it to function. As mentioned previously, you will need to place a Large Generator, as the Pylons won’t provide enough electricity to run the unit. From there, you must have tier-three or higher electric-type Pals to work the Generator and start your Crude Oil extraction empire!
