3ME Technology has hired experienced mining professional Dean Will as its new Chief Commercial Officer of Mining in a move that, it says, will help expand its operations and team in Western Australia.

Will has a wealth of experience in open-pit and underground mining, in Australia and across the globe. He has held significant industry roles, including COO of Mincor Resources (acquired by Wyloo), COO of Millennium Minerals Supply Ltd, Head of Mining & Technical Services at Anglo American, plus positions across Northern Star Resources Limited, AngloGold Ashanti and Metals X Limited. His expertise also extends to his time with Homestake Mining Company Of California, Inc in the US and at the Plutonic Gold Pty Ltd for over seven years.

Will advocated and supported the first Bortana EV trial at Mincor Resources’ Long Shaft operation a few years ago, which was the first lithium-ion powered vehicle to deploy underground in Western Australia. This vehicle featured a battery system from 3ME.

Based in Perth, Will’s focus will be on empowering miners with knowledge and developing the total cost of ownership models needed to make informed decisions about our innovative battery-electric solutions for underground and open-pit mines, 3ME said.

It added: “Dean’s appointment marks a significant milestone for 3ME Technology as we continue to charge ahead in sustainable mining practices. Dean’s reputation and experience in mining is top shelf and we are incredibly excited to welcome him to our team.”
