LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Have you ever ended up with water in your gas tank? With today’s high tech cars, it could cost thousands of dollars to fix.

Bad gasoline sounds like something that would have happened in the old days, but to contrary belief, it still happens today!

A man filled up his new Ford Escape and within minutes was broken down on the side of the road.

He had it towed to the dealership, only to be given some bad news.

“The Ford dealer had to drop the fuel tank, the whole tank was filled with water, they even left me a sample.”

The bill was nearly $1,200, just for a new fuel pump and injectors.

Getting bad gas not only is hard to get out of the gas tank, it also messes with the fuel filter, the fuel pump, and inside the engine.

The first signs of bad gas feel like a lack of power or misfire, the performance levels also slow significantly down.

So, if you suspect bad gasoline in your car, stop driving and have someone help you siphon it out, or get a tow before it causes more damage.
