Bungalow by Middle Brow in Chicago Named Top Pizza Spot in the U.S.
Another day, another pizza ranking.
Just a few days after 50 Top Pizza recognized three Chicago spots as the most delicious pizza parlors in the country, the New York Times has also released its own list of best destinations in the U.S.
The paper of record’s selections—which aren’t ranked— include Bungalow by Middle Brow, the Logan Square brewpub that slings out thin crust pies as well as its own take on tavern-style.
“The crusts are fragrant and flavorful, with sturdy undercarriages, and the Neapolitan pizzas are always memorable, whether they’re topped with the barest amount of ingredients (order at least one with tomato sauce and yuzu oil) or the makings of a German potato salad, to name just one in the never-ending parade of specialty pies,” writes the New York Times.
We naturally agree with that assessment, mostly because there is just something about beer and pizza that’s oh-so Chicago—and oh-so delectable.
Bungalow by Middle Brow was born out of Middle Brow Beer Co., where the staff used to solely be dedicated to the creation of both eclectic and more traditional brews. After expanding into pizza making, the local joint earned praise for its on-point pies, making it onto our very own list of best pizza spots in Chicago.
Are we a bit over-pizza’d by all these rankings? Sure. That being said, we learned one lesson this week: Chicago is home to some of the best damn pies in the country—and now everyone agrees with us.
